Situated in the heart of Tuscany between Florence and Siena. The town is divided in the small medieval upper town — Rione Castello — and the lower, more modern section. You can reach the upper part of the town by car or la funivia — the cableway — or the more athletic can go by foot. The town’s ancient brick buildings, magnificent towers and fortifications and the beautiful garden and walkway provide splendid views and unforgettable memories.
Civil marriages are celebrated in Rione Castello’s beautiful imposing 12th century town hall Palazzo Pretorio. The palace has a picturesque façade, entrance hall affreschi dating from the 13th to the 16th century and an outdoor courtyard. Stepping into the courtyard is like stepping into a medieval fairytale. The courtyard is one of the few outdoor locations for civil weddings in Italy.
