Frequently Asked Questions with Answers
I have compiled answers to some of the common questions that I often get from those of you who are wondering what it would be like to get married in Italy. Don’t hesitate to get in touch if there’s anything else you’re wondering about. And remember – all weddings are unique.
When do we need to book our wedding in Italy?
Tuscany is very popular for destination weddings, so if you’re looking for a specific place and a specific date, you should probably book at least 1 1/2 years in advance.
Why should one contact a wedding coordinator and why you specifically?
Organizing a wedding abroad can be very time-consuming and you may also encounter language problems. Planning a wedding should be fun and not filled with stress and musts, so delegating to a professional wedding coordinator with a lot of experience is worth its weight in gold, I think. The wedding day unfortunately doesn’t come back, so you should be able to enjoy it fully. And why should you choose me specifically? I have lived in Tuscany for over 20 years and worked as a wedding coordinator for 15 years, so I dare say that I have a lot of experience and have also been able to build up a large network of incredibly skilled collaborators/suppliers. I am also married to an Italian named Matteo and we have two children, Ella Amelia and Emil Dante, so I have the Italian culture behind me as well. So what I want to convey with my weddings is precisely the genuine Tuscany but with a Scandinavian framing when it comes to flowers/decoration etc.
What do we need to arrange ourselves for the wedding?
Rings, clothes, flight tickets, possible rental car, and invitation cards. These are the major parts, then maybe you want to make a welcome letter and put it in the rooms along with a welcome gift (e.g. a bottle of wine or a bottle of olive oil) or set up a website for your guests.
Are you as a wedding coordinator present throughout the entire wedding day?
I am there all day coordinating, from early morning until well into the party. I usually also attend the evening before or the day after the wedding, depending on the couple’s program and details.
How many years of experience do you have in coordinating weddings?
I have been organizing weddings since 2010, so it’s almost 15 years that I have been doing weddings in Italy.
